Successfully converting every other “job scheduler” into a single, true automation solution, since 1980
SMA Solutions has provided IT workload automation solutions for nearly four decades and we have managed complex conversions for hundreds of global organizations. We have acquired the experience and expertise required to overcome the delays and complexities that conversions often possess.
Steps to a Successful Conversion
Step 1: Understand Requirements
SMA Solutions’ expert consultants meet with your team to understand your existing scheduling environment and put together a plan to convert your data to OpCon. All conversions are tailored to each individual customer’s environment to meet the specific needs of the business.
Step 2: Data Extraction
Working together, we use existing data export programs, reports or databases to extract data from your current scheduling environment. We convert all of your workflows or only certain pieces, according to your needs and wishes.
Step 3: Customization
Our consultants use a collaborative approach to understand how your current schedules and jobs are defined to then map that data into the OpCon database. SMA Solutions’ consultants translate your data in a way that preserves what you are currently doing in your new OpCon environment.
Step 4: Testing
The most important part of conversions is testing. Our consultants work with you to produce an iterative process to test, refine and retest the conversion data until you are assured of the results.
Step 5: Go Live
We go live only when you say things are good. After your approval, our consultants will run the automated conversion programs and build the new OpCon database to be used in your live environment.

Our effectiveness, capacity and reputation have improved since the implementation of OpCon. It has definitely enhanced value to the credit union.
I can now activate the recovery plan myself using only three clicks in OpCon.
We eliminated both the human error and the human stress levels associated with a manual failover process.
It used to take six months to train a new employee. They had to know every detail of every job. Now, all that institutional knowledge is codified inside of OpCon. Despite the fact that we’re using more platforms, training takes half the time.
We automated more than 70 percent of our processes. Now, we’re reaching out to other departments, helping them automate, too.
We need to be able to rely on systems that can support all our business and supply chain processes cost-effectively – and in real time.
We have yet to find something we want to do that OpCon can’t automate. We’re still finding new things to do with OpCon.
There are fewer steps for my daily tasks, and some steps have been eliminated completely.
From April through December of 2007, we saved 2,001,230 operational keystrokes.
I was amazed with the support and responsiveness we received when one of our systems would not communicate with our schedule activity monitor. SMASolutions called me back in less than 15 minutes with the solution. It makes a big difference knowing that someone will respond promptly with all the necessary resources. This is precisely what defines the quality of a company’s products and services.
