2014 a Year of Firsts
SMA Solutions, a leading international provider of transformative IT automation and business analysis tools for data centers of all sizes, today announced key milestones achieved by the company in 2014.
“2014 represented an important step forward in what we do at SMA,” said company founder and CEO Michael Taylor, “which is offering real business solutions to customers in a wide range of verticals around the world.” Key to this effort was the introduction of the company’s first new product in 20 years, SMA Ascern™, which is an adaptive real-time monitoring, trending, forecasting and analytics tool. Introduced initially to U.S. financial institutions, Taylor said that the company will emphasize the introduction of Ascern across the company’s entire customer base in 2015.
The company also saw significant success in 2014 with OpCon™, its flagship enterprise automation solution. According to Taylor, for the fourth consecutive year, the company added more than 60 new OpCon customers. This in turn led to the fourth consecutive year of growth in excess of 12 percent – a company record. The company enjoyed considerable success in 2014 in the European IBM i market, especially in the insurance, investment, and fashion industries. SMA Solutions will place major focus in 2015 on repeating that success in the U.S. IBM i marketplace.
“Our target for 2015 is 15-percent growth,” said Taylor. “I’m confident that our U.S. market presence will remain strong, and anticipate important contributions from our Milan and Netherlands offices, as well as emerging business in Australia and New Zealand.”
Despite this impressive growth, Taylor is committed to maintaining the company’s long-time reputation for outstanding customer service. “What we sometimes take for granted at SMA is our great service,” he said, “but we do offer the best service in the industry. I intend to keep it that way.”
